PEACEHEALTH MEDICAL GROUP’S
(PHMG) Creswell Clinic rolled out the
welcome mat in January for family practice
physician Lyle Torguson, MD.
“I look forward to getting to know the
wonderful people of Creswell,” says Dr.
Torguson, who has spent the last six years with
PHMG’s Cottage Grove Clinic. “I’m also really
looking forward to assisting with the leadership
and stability of this wonderful gem of a clinic.
Becoming a permanent part of the Creswell
Clinic will allow me to enjoy the flexibility that

a smaller clinic has to offer.”
Dr. Torguson joined South Lane Medical
Group in 2005. Before that, he practiced
family medicine and psychiatry in Minnesota
for 15 years. During that time, he was also an
associate professor in family medicine at the
University of Minnesota. A nationally known
speaker on mental health and bipolar disorder,
Dr. Torguson was the only primary care
physician appointed to the Minnesota State
Advisory Council on Mental Health by the
Minnesota governor in 2000.
He spent the latter part
of his childhood and most of
his adult life in Minnesota,
and earned his medical
degree at the University of
Minnesota Medical School.
“I like to think outside
the box when dealing
with unusual medical
conditions,” he says of his approach to patient
care. “Being open to any possibility and
listening carefully to my patients allows me to
provide the best possible care.”
Dr. Torguson enjoys spending time with
his wife and dog, and tries to do something
creative every day, whether it is taking photos
of nature, painting, sculpting or woodworking.

Hip and knee
patients get
Back On Track
IF THE NEWLY opened Joint Replacement
Center at Sacred Heart Medical Center
(SHMC) at RiverBend has an athletic feel, it’s
purely intentional.
The center's Back On Track program
features a track-and-field theme, inspired by
the sport’s rich history in our area. The idea is
to motivate patients who are undergoing hip
or knee surgery to get moving on the path to
recovery—and support one another in that
goal—as soon as the day after their surgery.
Visitors to the Joint Replacement Center
will see the commitment to an active lifestyle
woven throughout the program, right down to
the artwork on the walls.

Track program at the Joint Replacement
